When care needs change, the Windsor chair series is designed to prevent falls and reduce the physical demands of family members providing loved ones with mealtime assistance. MOBILITY: This chair features a LOCKABLE-INLINE-CASTERS. This feature enables the caregiver to pull the chair (in a straight line) further away from the table thereby allowing even more room between the table and the chair for a person to be seated. Once the person is seated, the caregiver moves the seated person forward to the table with ease and grace! This chair also features a SWIVEL SEAT which locks automatically (90 degrees L/R). With the seat turned away from the table and locked a person is able to be seated without any interference from the table. Once seated, the person is turned to face the table at which time the seat locks in place. The Swivel Release Lever is positioned in easy reach for either the seated person or the family care giver. The WINDSOR Chair Series features a “farm house” design with soft honey oak finish is sure to provide warmth within any kitchen. MOBILITY: This chair features a LOCKABLE-Fully ROTATIONAL-CASTERS. This feature enables the caregiver to move the entire chair away from the table - towards the person requiring mealtime assistance. Why move the person to the table when it’s easier and safer to move the chair to the person? Ask the person to remain standing relying on the support of his/her walker. The caregiver moves the chair directly up behind the standing person and applies the rear locks for safety and invites the person to “sit down.” Once seated, the caregiver releases the brakes and effortlessly moves both the person and the chair back into position at the table. After the meal the caregiver moves the seated person away from the table and using the arms of the chair for support rises and walks straight away from the table. The swivel feature enables (a) a larger person – up to 350 lbs, or (b) a person living independently to easily seat themselves at the dining table without the assistance of a spouse or caregiver! With the chair positioned at the table, rotate the seat 90 degrees, it locks! The person is able to seat themselves and then rotate the chair into alignment with the table. The chair should be positioned at the table so that the seated person’s midsection is just touching the front edge of the table. Smaller persons may want to place a cushion behind their backs. There is no need for assistance from a caregiver/spouse, as the chair is already positioned at the table. Ideal for in-home care and institutional facilities, as it enhances the quality of life for persons with Alzheimer's, Dementia, Parkinson or seniors where the effects of aging have reduced their mobility.
