Absolutely perfect for my needs. We now own 5 of these gates which we use to keep our dog restricted to certain areas of the house. The features we like best are that you can install it on either side of the doorway, the gate swings both ways, and you can install it above the floor, if desired. This works out perfectly for our cats, who are able to slip under the gate (mounted 6 inches above the floor). The dogs are not able to follow. I think this gate is great. It is strong and sturdy and holds up to 4 smaller(20lbs) dogs hammering it. I bought an extension so it would fit a wide opening. I bought 2 gates for our back door entryway to close off the utility area hallway so the dogs would dry off after being outside so I wouldn't be mopping wet red clay paw prints off the floors all winter! If I had to do it again I think I would buy the Duragate assembly where you can detached from the wall when not in use.. I don't need the gate during the summer when it isn't wet..I live in Oregon and it is really wet in the winter. As it is I configured the gates so that they would swing 180 degrees and lay against the hall wall when not in use. These adhesive blind cord cleats are the only ones of their kind on the market that I could locate. Buying cleats from a window manufacturer is ridiculously expensive. These cleats are clear and blend in well. Altbough the adhesive base is smaller than the perimeter of the cleat itself, it still affixes to the window frame well - wood or metal.
