The blades are long and slim, kind of walnut finish that looks classy, not plasticky. When it runs, it’s surprisingly quiet… I was expecting some hum but honestly barely hear it, just air moving. The remote is handy, has 6 speeds so I can fine tune depending if we’re just sitting around or cooking. Tried the reverse direction too, during a cooler night, and it did make the air feel softer instead of breezy. Timer settings are simple, I mostly use the 4 hour one before going to bed. One thing, there’s no light with it, which I knew before, but worth saying since many fans come with one. For me it was fine, we already have ceiling lights. Definitely not a one-person job. One issue we noticed is that some of the nails on the top go all the way through the panels, which affects the finish and could be a concern for durability and appearance. Once put together, it feels sturdy and solid, and the workspace is roomy and functional, making it a great addition if you enjoy grilling and staying organized. The was the easiest thing I think I’ve ever assembled, but wow it is heavy! On the other hand, this was also the hardest thing I’ve ever hung up. It was a beast to hang on the wall. I wish it had a template to where you could just hang on the wall and use that, but noooo. They wanted you to measure the distance between each one, level it, and hope you weren’t too far off. I’m redoing my laundry room and this is great, but make sure you hang this on the studs. Hanging this beast with just the drywall anchors will not cut it. Also, make sure to loosen the bottom screw on the anchors so they reach the things that it hangs on. I didn’t know that until I was trying to hang this up.
