So, while this birdhouse displays that it is constructed sturdily with screws, they do not reach through the top piece. My box came a bit banged up and one side of the roof was displaced. This was glued, held in place by 2 thin staples. Sigh... I glued it back in place and will hang it out, but those screws appear to be just window dressing.
