I purchased this flatware chest to store my 12-place-setting stainless flatware set, along with numerous matching serving and specialty pieces. This chest is very well constructed and the cherry color wood finish is absolutely beautiful. And I like that it is made in the USA! However, I was disappointed in the felt insert piece inside that holds and organizes the various pieces. The slots really are not deep enough to keep the top two pieces from falling over into the other slots. They just kind of wobble and balance on top of each stack. And even though it is hand-crafted, it is quite pricey, but I was willing to pay more for a quality product since I will be passing it and the flatware down to my family some day. This chest is very dark cherry, much darker than photo with description. I own a Reed and Barton jewelry chest similar to this. I think it is slightly better quality, more traditional cherry and MUCH less expensive.
