I think to myself how one day I will long for this moment again, our little world, curled perfectly into me. I for a moment try to soak it all in, every detail, your scent, the warmth of your little body pressed to mine. I wrap my hand around your foot that you have tucked up against my stomach- I think how it fits perfectly in my palm. I want to remember that. I want to remember every detail. I want to be able to come back to this moment with you in my mind- whenever I need it, need a reminder of how wonderful life can be, how meaningful you make my life, how I need you probably as much as you need me. I will store this for a rainy day, a day hopefully far from now. When you aren’t so small. When you don’t need me in the same way. I whisper to you that. You are my baby, you always will be.
