They feel great but although they do look like the photos, the sweet surprise for me was that up close the dots have a look of watercolor which makes the geometric pattern a little more organic for lack of a better word. Also the background is not as white as the photos imply but a subtle ivory with a barely-there beige pattern which looks loosely woven. Works in my daughters room perfectly. Came with a few light stains, so washed immediately. Stains did not come out but they are on the underside of the the duvet cover so I’m ok with it.
