When I first took it out of the freeze dried pkg it was so wrinkled I didn’t think I would ever get all the wrinkles out but my husband put it in the washer and spun it out. I did wash them first before I put them on. There wasn’t a smell but you should always wash bedding before laying in it. The pattern on it is unique, with different materials used. I love that this gives it some character and adds to the warmth of the room. It’s a classic style, but also modern and appropriate for all ages. It is perfect for fall and spring. For winter, I’d probably add a layer underneath.
