This is a very substantial coverlet. It’s gorgeous but it is definitely a mild raspberry color. It’s fine with my bedding but if you want a more sand/cream this won’t do. Also, it’s polyester fill which I could kick myself for not reading. I would have preferred down. This will make you sweat for sure. But overall I think it works great.. Tracy. Fairhope, AL. This bedspread is fantastic- going glam in the bedroom and this was just the right touch without being over the top. I still can’t believe how inexpensive it is for such a great, heavy, comforter. I thought it would be too heavy for California weather, but no, it’s just perfect. It’s apparently kitty approved as well. Cat didn’t move for hours- had to make sure he was still breathing. Wasn’t happy when I woke him up…. Dina. Dana Point, CA. Sun Dec 19 2021

Hugh is a classic matelassé constructed of mercerized cotton for a sleek appearance and hand feel. The all-over stippling design provides subtle interest, and the coverlet is finished with scalloped edge rounded front corners. Matelasse (mat-la-SAY) is a weaving or stitching technique yielding a pattern that appears quilted or padded. Matelass may be achieved by hand, on a jacquard loom, or a quilting machine. It is meant to mimic the style of hand-stitched quilts made in Marseilles, France. It is a heavy, thick textile that appears to be padded, but actually has no padding within the fabric. Our Hugh Matelasse has a soft, pebble-like texture.

Beautiful pink. Soft and delicate... most of the time vintage pink is a little too much and almost not pink.. I did not put them on my bed yet because I am moving in a week and am saving them for my new bedroom at my new house. But, they are well made. Happy with my purchase..
