The mattress is medium-firm in texture and has two layers: the top layer is made up of cooling gel foam and the bottom one is made of high-density foam. This provides you with breathability and even all night support. The gel foam extracts heat out of you and allows air to enter making you cool and dry. It has a memory foam that is made to fit your body and relieve pressure on your shoulders, hips, and spine, thus it fits those who either sleep on their back, side, or stomach. A soft breathable removable cover on the mattress can be un-zipped and washed in the machine and therefore it remains clean without much effort. The framework itself was beautiful when you opened it up. The only thing you had to do was attached to legs. As far as working it operates beautifully. We love it since the day we put it in we went with a 14 inch mattress on top of it because we wanted a little bit more cushion with the foam and it raised the bed up about 2 1/2 inches so it was easier for us at our age to slide out of bed instead of sitting up and standing up overall very good quality for the purchase. I bought the twin size of this mattressfoundation. It came in separate boxes - one for the mattress, one for the foundation. I question my purchase because this mattress is SO thick, so the foundation makes it even higher up (if that makes any sense). I probably couldve done without a foundation.
