Great topper, but pretty thick. Without knowing what 4 inches of a pad really does, I think a 3 inch topper would have been better for my back pain. I also needed to buy new extra deep sheets to fit the topper and mattress. Something to consider when look at the 4 inch. But depending on your current matress size, this may not be an issue.. We recently purchased a new mattress and it turned out to be not as soft as we'd hoped, so we purchased this mattress topper. It did come with some rust like marks on one side, but the other side looks just fine. I did tear it a little with my thumb when I was trying to position it better on the bed, which surprised me.
