ZEW's mission is to protect, restore and replenish our planet through the use of bamboo toward an absolute zero emission life style. Large scale and massive use of bamboo for home furnishings, housing and transportation products served as carbon sinks which will lead us towards zero carbon foot print. ZEW promotes handicraft skills and stimulate local economies to lift communities out of poverty. ZEW Inc. is the antidote to the “Story of Stuff”, of unconscious consumerism. Proven for centuries as a durable building material, they are inspired by this strong and beautiful grass. Bamboo has earned scientific recognition as an essential renewable resource, fundamental to sustainable living and beneficial to environmental health. ZEW uses native species of bamboos in the regions where we work. Currently, ZEW uses timber bamboos such as Bambusa Barbatus and solid bamboos Dendrocalamus Strictus. Both are harvested annually by local farmers from private lands, community and natural forests. ZEW strictly adheres to internationally standardized treatment procedures in preparing their bamboo for production. These processes are proven to be non-toxic and environmentally sound and ensure a finished product that withstands the test of time.
We strive to protect our environment by using eco-friendly, biodegradable, and sustainable natural bamboo to build our collections. Bamboo is the fastest growing plant that continues to grow back once harvested. Each piece is lovingly handmade by local artists with no two items exactly alike. Each bamboo is unique by nature so you are guaranteed to have a one- of-a-kind item.
Production Care: Keep bamboo furniture shaded from the sun and in DRY AREAS. Bring bamboo products indoor or cover with waterproof covers when not in use to minimize mold and mildew issues. To clean bamboo, handwash with light soap, warm water and wipe dry.
