I've had this fan for a year now. I really adore it as it is attractive, super quiet, and moves a lot of air. It's one of the only units I've seen that has a support structure spanning the pivots and bearings on both the top and the bottom of the rotating assembly. The design itself is very impressive, overall. One shortcoming, however, are the switches. It has extremely subtle and closely spaced touch switches on top of the unit. They are hard to see unless they are in direct light so it's very easy to hit unintended icons or to have them register twice. Worse yet are the press switches on the tiny remote (which is easy to lose in or under the couch...). Since there is no audible prompt when you change settings, I often find myself hitting a button and having no idea whether it registered or not. The angle and height at which you hold the remote is also crucial. I often hit a button a second time then have to backtrack in order to sort out the speed. A visual scale or read out of some sort would be helpful as well as an audible prompt. At MRSP, this fan seems like it should look great and work flawlessly in every respect. In truth, it works super well as an oscillating fan but you do need to get used to using the remote and the tiny touch switches. They're not a deal breaker but are a bit of an ongoing annoyance. If you find it on sale, however, like I did, it really is worth every penny. I have been using this for 2 weeks in the Texas heat, and it even rained and I haven't run into any issues. Also the color is bright. I purchased this for my living room because I needed a quieter pedestal fan. It definitely is much quieter than the inexpensive plastic pedestal fans from the local hardware store. It also has a larger overall fan and puts out an increased amount of circulated air. It has many different settings. So far I am happy with the sound level and how it cools down the room better than my old fan. The only thing that is a little different is the sleep mode and the natural mode seem to operate by fluctuating the speed. I don't really care for those modes but the Normal mode is consistent and does a great job. Overall I recomment this fan, The price is MUCH lower than similar fans with these features.
