Two gorgeous, Amish-handcrafted shelves, made from reclaimed barn joists. As these are 100% genuine reclaimed barn wood, you may notice variations in the shade compared to the few shelves we took pictures of. All saw, nail, and other distressed characteristics are naturally occurring and will vary from piece to piece. Your shelf may or may not have nails. Your shelf may or may not have nail holes or large holes from mortise and tenon style construction. Your shelf may or may not have markings or cracks from things that happened to it 100 years ago. Your shelf's shade may or may not look like the few shelves we took a picture of for the listing. Our "natural" shelves have no added stain at all. Raw cut ends. See examples in photos of how EVERY PIECE OF WOOD IS DIFFERENT and will rarely look exactly like the few that we pictured.
Features
- Set of 2 Urban Legacy Deep Floating Shelves with Low Profile Brackets. The shelves are available in Natural (no stain or finish), Rustic Brown or Rustic Gray. Choose from 24", 36" or 48" lengths x 11" deep x 2.5" thick (nominal). They are handmade by Amish artisans from genuine reclaimed barn joists in Lancaster County, PA.
- Low Profile Brackets and all mounting hardware are included, along with easy-to-follow installation instructions. The brackets must be mounted into studs.
- The backs of the shelves are routed for studs that are 16" on center, to ensure hitting studs. This routing allows the shelf to conceal the vertical portion of the bracket and sit flush against the wall. When mounted properly into studs, each shelf can support up to 100 lbs, in addition to the weight of the shelf. The included sturdy steel brackets mount into studs with (2) 2.5" lag bolts, and are angled up 1° to compensate for the weight of your dishes, books, or other heavy items that can be placed on these hefty shelves!
- Please be sure to look at all the available pictures to see the different variations of distressing and coloration that may occur. Every nail, nail hole, paint mark, divot, scrape, and scratch is evidence of the decades of life this wood has experienced in the barns. We do not add to or take away from the naturally occurring beauty of the wood used to make these shelves. Distressing and color will vary depending on where the wood was used in the barns. The pictures in this listing represent some, but not all, of the natural variations in color and distressing. As this is solid reclaimed wood, please handle it with care to avoid any small splinters.
- Important Note: Natural (no stain) shelves are not stained or finished in any way. All coloring is naturally occurring from decades in working barns. When the shelves are cut to size, the ends may be lighter or a different color, as they have not been previously exposed to the elements.
