• Check your venting capabilities: Check if your home has installed ductwork. If it does, or you plan on getting it installed, you should look for a ducted (vented) or convertible range hood. If your home does not have installed ductwork, you should choose a ductless (non-vented) or convertible range hood.
• Measure your space: First, measure the width of your cooking surface from one side of the cooktop to the other. Next, measure the width of the area between cabinets where your range hood will live (if applicable). Then, measure the space between the cooking surface and the cabinets or ceiling above.
