The canopy works well for our application to shelter a back door from rain. Assembly instructions were reasonably clear but there are no instructions on mounting it to the house, so you will have to figure that out on your own. If you are not an experienced DIY person, you may have some trouble. The mounting hardware supplied is only for mounting to a masonry wall, so if you are mounting somewhere else, you will need to supply your own. The canopy is actually 74" long x 39" deep (extending out from the house). That is not stated anywhere. My application required exactly 72", so I cut one of the panels and supports to make it fit. This is a product that is patented, modular, DIY, and hand-crafted. The framework is made out of a beautiful commercial-grade mill finish aluminum that will not rust. The projection arms are made out of iron, designed with an ornate pointed spear, and painted black. The hardware is stainless steel and provides additional support to the durable frame. The awning fabric is woven out of the Beauty-Mark branded 100% acrylic fabric and has resistant coatings to help (1) maintain its rich color while being exposed to harsh UV rays, (2) prevent mildew and soil buildup, and (3) maintain a water-resistant barrier allows for rain to roll off of the awning and not soak through the fabric.
