Disclosure: I haven't had a headboard since I was a very young adult right out of college. So, I don't have a lot of experience on what I should expect regarding a headboard.
My bedroom is pretty modern with a strong mid century flair. I have a ton of wood furniture, so I wanted an upholstered headboard to give at least some softness to the room.
The headboard arrived promptly and in good condition. My boyfriend said he installed it relatively easily by himself. However, there IS a noticeable gap between the mattress and the legs of the headboard frame, even when he lowered it as much as possible. I have pillows there and night stands on either side, so I don't really notice it unless I'm making the bed. The gap will bother some/many of you, so beware.
I think the upholstery material is quite nice and I think the headboard looks more expensive than it is.
Could it be better--YES! But, would I buy this one again? Yeah, probably. The price was right and it fits in with the rest of my bedroom. However, we shove old t-shirts behind the headboard because there are bolts and screws that rub up against the wall. The added material of the shirts helps to absorb the sound as well as helping to stop the damage to the walls. You can't see the t-shirts at all. But, know if you buy this headboard, you will need to add a barrier between the headboard and your wall, unless it's brick.
Pros: material is of nice quality, color is what I expected from seeing it online, great price
Cons: you can see a gap between the mattress and the headboard, even at the lowest level; there's nothing on the back of the headboard to buffer the hardware from damaging walls. Carolyn. Reston, VA. Mon Aug 17 2015
