Its very firm, but solid structure. It picks easily...that scares me horribly...but its nice to lay back almost completely! Update:6/3/20 - The fabric has completely torn from the seat on the one side and is going on the other...not a good buy at all...I'm so sad!. Connie. OH. Tue Jun 02 2020
