Our lift-top coffee table features a wooden top that smoothly raises or lowers by a high-quality metal mechanism and spring. The instructions were straightforward and the assembly process was mostly easy. The table feels solid, looks nice, and was a great deal. However, the two metal lifting mechanisms included with my package did not match. Only one of them lined up with the diagram on the instructions, and neither one lined up correctly with the screw holes in the table. Ultimately I used a power drill and simply screwed them in as well as I could (I did not want to deal with a back-and-forth attempt at replacements). Now the top panel does not line up completely perfectly with the corners of the table when closed, but fundamentally it works fine and rests level. So far, so good! I ordered this dark gray lift top table, it arrived 3 days later. Perfect size because I live in a 2br condo. For a girl, I'm pretty good with assembling furniture so this was pretty easyt o assemble. If you're more of a visual person, I suggest scanning the qr code in the guide to follow assembly instructions that way. The one issue I had was installing the top round part in accordance with the brackets. That was an easy fix to just turn it around in the way the arrows are pointing. My only complaint is that it says it's dark gray, but its much darker than "I" expected - I don't see much gray in it. Wayfair should change the description a bit.
