It is big and heavy, after all it is marble. I would say the color is grey. I assembled it myself and it took an hour but I had fun. Note that there is warning not to spill acidic food or drinks or it will stain so just know that about marble. Another observation is that it sits higher than the prior coffee table (so my legs go up compared to my sofa). The marble piece itself looks great with nice lines streaking through.consider that the secondary shelf is black (not looking for black in this room), but it was my intention to put some books on that which will cover the black..
