This traditional piece is at home in any fine study, office, library, upscale restaurant, or scientific laboratory. The weather station measures temperature (in °F), barometric pressure (mbar and inHg), and humidity (%). The bezels display an air of quality and accuracy one would expect with a fine, handcrafted weather instrument. Note: Barometer only operates to 3,000'. Do not order if you live above 3,000'. Weather Forecasting The weather forecast or pressure tendency is based on the rate of change of barometric pressure. In general, when the pressure increases, the weather improves (sunny to partly cloudy) and when the pressure decreases, the weather degrades (cloudy to rain). The weather forecast is an estimation or generalization of weather changes in the next 24 to 48 hours, and varies from location to location. The tendency is simply a tool for projecting weather conditions and is never to be relied upon as an accurate method to predict the weather. The barometer includes a manually set needle, which is used to mark the current measurement so a change can be seen. Barometric readings should be taken daily. Remember that the rate of change of barometric pressure is important in determining weather changes. You may want to take multiple readings each day during periods of unstable weather conditions.

Very attractive and so far pretty accurate.. Jana. Mora, NM. Thu Aug 27 2026

This traditional weather station is both a work of art and an instrument at home in any fine study, library, office, or upscale restaurant. The rich, wood framed classic weather station measures barometric pressure (liquid). The antique weather station displays an air of quality and accuracy one would expect with a fine, handcrafted weather instrument from Ambient Weather. The concept that 'decreasing atmospheric pressure predicts stormy weather' was postulated by Lucien Video and it's the basis for a weather prediction device called a storm glass or liquid barometer. It consists of a glass container with a sealed body, half-filled with water. A narrow spout connects to the body below the water level and rises above the water level, where it is open to the atmosphere. When the air pressure is lower than it was at the time the body was sealed, the water level in the spout will rise above the water level in the body and when the air pressure is higher, the water level in the spout will drop below the water level in the body. Also includes a comfort meter, which measures temperature and humidity, and a comfort zone indicator.

Super cool weather station that really does predict rain! Looks great on the wall.. Judy. US. Thu Jan 08 2026

This weather glass comes with a cast iron filigree holder. "Thunder glass" was one of the earliest types of functioning barometers. Add color to the water to make this not only a functional but beautiful instrument.

Very happy with this purchase. It works great! Made of great material too!. Michele. MS. Sun Jun 22 2025

I love these clocks. This is my 3rd one in the past 25ys. They get old and stop working . The last one got blown off by a wind storm and busted the glass in it. I have it on my covered porch. The first one I ordered was made out of metal. Very well made. The last 2 I have got are made out of plastic even the hook. Even though they have lasted a while I like the metal better. Plastic looks cheap. Can't find metal anymore.. Sharon. Livermore, KY. Fri Jul 10 2026

Great looking, not too heavy. Accurate, too.. Dianne. Sandwich, MA. Wed Sep 09 2026
