Inside the draws is solid untreated plywood . Here it would have been nice to have manufacturing put a liner in it or have the draws treated - overall for the price I give it a 4star a 5star would have been the liner and coated ply wood. Anja. This is a sturdy, attractive dresser for my small bedroom. I have a lamp, a clock, and a jewelry box on top, my phone and tablet charging cords on the little shelf beneath (the hole in the back is very handy for the cords), and clothing in the three drawers. I love how smoothly the drawers open and close. If I had to do it again, I would pay for the delivery men to unpack this for me as there was a LOT of difficult packaging to get through.
