Sooo beautiful! I love how realistic the logs look! I love the amber effect when they're lit. The temp blows out hot, but my one star removal is because there's not a way to easily go up and down in temp on the remote or on the unit, when you push the button it just goes up in degrees to eventually reset back down. You can go down one if you went too high in temp. The entire base of unit gets super hot. But it is self-contained heat, meaning it doesn't make the surround or the thing it's sitting on hot. Only any areas right in front of the heating element get hot, so can't have wood or other combustibles in that area. But if you have wood or other combustible material underneath or to the sides or to the back, it will not get hot. So that's nice. It's compact in width but deep. The feet extend further than the unit itself, so note that if building your fireplace yourself like I'm working on. Otherwise, still love it!
