During the mid-20th century, interior design and art took a turn. Designs were developed that immersed the occupant of the space in an experience. Rooms were not only to be a feast for the eyes, but they were meant to evoke a feeling. In 1938, Mads Eg Damgaard began developing flooring that would capture the feeling the interior designer was trying to create. The artistic vintage Ege carpets were the result.
