Clean lines, zero floor clutter. This floating wall-mounted TV stand floats beneath your screen for a modern, minimalist look — with built-in LED lighting to set the mood.
Needed something that would be low profile and not overwhelming in appearance for a small tv area near the entry door. Liked the floating factor of this unit and the enclosed bookcases. Went through the other reviews of similar units by the same company and prepared ourselves for a nightmare install. We have tools and there were 2 of us so we were ready.
The first unit ordered was damaged in shipping and never even made it to us (thank you Wayfair for the intercept) so we had to wait 3 more weeks for delivery. It took 2 people 2 days to install it to where we called it done. We took our time because when we rushed something would go wrong. Overall, it works for what we needed and my husband likes it so all is good.
We bought the wood grain finish, and yes it is laminated particle board but the laminate looks decent, not cheap (pixelated or with obvious pattern repetition). Color is not as light as in their pictures. The cabinet with the glass does not have white in it like the picture implies. Would have liked better if it had been that way. All 3 shelves in there are glass. The other cabinet has regular shelves. Not crazy about the lighting as it does not go really white as it shows in the picture. The lights clip onto the glass so just the glass is lit up along the edges. We had to play with the clips and them hung them free on one side to bring light into the cabinet.
Some suggestions...
1. Check the packages before letting the driver leave. It came in a crate but still one box was ripped, though the contents were fine.
2. Look at the instructions and then go on line and watch their videos (address on the instructions).
3. Figure out where exactly you want to put the units approximately then start with the main piece (for us it was the floating TV stand) and find the studs where you can mount the bracket if putting into drywall. It is not a safe setup for a large tv if you only put it into drywall you need to put the screws for each piece into stud or brick.
4. You NEED a level gauge to check that you are level every step of the way. The hardware has the ability to make slight adjustments but they are slight at best.
5. Once the main piece is mounted, play with the other pieces' placement. You might be surprised how it ends up looking the best.
5. Leave the doors for last. The will be in the way of what you need to do otherwise.
6. When mounting the doors there is a strange little screw in the hinges that has to engage with the hardware that is mounted to the cabinet. If it does not slide into its placement, the door hinges will hang each only by one screw. Look first at the hinges to understand the way it slides in. If done correctly you will not be able to take those headless screws out when mounted. If you can then you did not get that notched screw in where it holds on to the hardware.
7. There are circular openings just for the light to be inserted to attach to the glass. On the TV stand you will need to drill/cut notches into the cabinet to thread cords through if you want to hide them. You would need a drill or other electric saw to do it clean in the top. In the back you will need to make the holes larger. It is worth it if you can do it.
8. The upright cabinets need a screw at the bottom to keep them from shifting slightly if pressured the wrong way. Such a screw is not provided.
Good luck and enjoy~!. Nl. Malibu, CA. Sun Mar 07 2021
