8" Tall Oversized Chess and Checker Set with Vinyl Roll-up Board is as small as makes chess sets, it is still much larger than most chess sets. This is the right set if you have the curiosity of owning a big chess set, but want something that is affordable and easy to carry. This set comes with an attractive storage box with a carry strap and a cloth chessboard. The plastic pieces are made of rugged, waterproof, and UV-resistant injection-molded, hollow plastic. Light enough to take on any outing, you can count on people (especially kids) to walk up and make friends! And yes, you can weight these pieces! Find the hole in the base as a soft spot in felt. Poke a hole in felt with a pencil. Fill with fine sand. Enlarge the hole with a drill if in hurry. Drip household glue in the hole. Let glue-sand mix dry to form a hole plug. Enjoy the indoor/outdoor Plastic Chess Set with an 8" King on the back lawn or in the family room. This set is very popular with our campground, hotel, resort, and family customers. Love the size of the pieces. Big hit with fam.. Yvette. Flint, MI. Sun Aug 27 2023

For the ultimate chess-playing experience, we have developed a chess set that is larger than life! Standing at 16 inches tall, the big, but not huge, pieces included in this set are designed to be indestructible, making them perfect for outdoor settings, as well as commercial settings in which they are likely to be used by scores of people. The pieces are very light, weighing about 8 to 17 ounces each, which enables them to be easily moved by young children. They have the ability to be made heavier as well. Simply drill a hole at the bottom of each piece, fill it with fine sand, and seal it back up with adhesive. These chess pieces are designed to withstand the most extreme weather conditions. We have set in the heat of the Middle East, the humidity of the Far East, the cold of the Rocky Mountains, and the sun, sand, and salty air of Southern California.
