I purchased the 3" Slumber Solutions Reversible Cooling Gel Memory Foam. After sleeping on it for a few weeks, I wish I had purchased the 2" one. It is on an old mattress that was firm originally so with age it was a bit harder. I went with the Cooling Gel rather than a standard egg-crate one expecting it to now be so hot. It does seem to be a bit warm but not horrible. I can turn the over head fan on and I am fine. This will ultimately be a guest room. It is on the bed with the egg crate down to give more support (at least that what descriptions say). It may be cooler with the egg crate side up. I let it air out for a week while we were out-of-town. No strange odors when opened and was fairly expanded. This does fit under the fitted sheet so there is not much movement of the topper. Since it is the 3", it has taken some time to get used to the extra height around the edges of the bed. Overall a good topper and I am pleased with my purchase.. Margaret. Silver Spring, MD. Added these toppers to the 8" foam mattresses that came with the beds. I purchased two twin beds for a guest bedroom. My only regret is I should have purchased 3",or even 4" toppers. I think after owning several memory foam mattress toppers, these are just not for me. I do like how your body sinks in and the foam cradles you, I don’t like how hot they make me. Even the toppers that claim to be cooling or, as this one says, gel and aloe infused, they do not truly cool me or keep me from getting hot. But that’s just me. I did transfer this mattress topper to the bed in the guest bedroom (after trimming it to fit the queen size bed) and everyone who’s slept on it said they slept pretty good.
