My bedroom is too small to hold a queen bed and a dresser or chest of drawers, so I have a storage issue. I figured a captain’s bed fit the bill. One side has three deep drawers and the other has six drawers half as deep. I like that the mattress is fully supported instead of flimsy slats like I’ve seen on some beds. Assembly was pretty straight forward, and the bed seems well made. If you sleep hot like I do, you may want to place a hybrid mattress on the bed (No, you don’t need a box spring.). According to my research, a hybrid will allow air to circulate between the platform and the top level of the mattress to keep you cooler. I also considered purchasing the matching night stands, but held off until I could see how the bed’s drawers fit into my space. The drawers go the entire length of the bed, so I wouldn’t have been able to open the drawers near the headboard if the night stands were in place, rendering them useless. I solved this problem by ordering a pair of “C” tables instead that had a drawer and even outlet and charging station built in. They weren’t as large as I wanted in order to hold lamps, etc., so I placed the glass from a pair of old end tables on top. Problem solved!. Amy. Elgin, SC. Wed Aug 12 2020
