Well made and beautiful wood! We used a 5"H metal box spring and an 11"H mattress which brought the total height of mattress to 25" from the floor. The top of the mattress falls about halfway up the trim board at the bottom of the upholstery. That makes it perfect for putting the bottom sheet on the mattress. Be aware! It is heavy!!. Zita.
