The Franklin Log Cabin Cedar Feeder is handcrafted in the Amish country using reclaimed and recycled wood, making it an eco-friendly choice for bird lovers. This beautiful birdfeeder combines charm and functionality, inspired by the historical design of log cabins, blending rustic aesthetics with modern practicality. The use of reclaimed wood not only benefits the environment but also supports local wildlife. Log cabin construction was introduced to North America by Swedish and Finnish settlers in the Delaware River region, known as New Sweden, in the 1630s. This feeder features a metal chain for hanging and a repurposed sheet of metal lining the roof, with a solid wooden board underneath for insulation. It has a hinged top that allows for easy access to the seed compartment, which can hold a generous 5 pounds of birdseed. Its dimensions strike a balance between compactness and spaciousness, making it suitable for attracting a variety of wild birds. With drainage at the base, this bird feeder is a wonderful addition for anyone looking to support local wildlife while adding a rustic touch to their outdoor space. It is designed to last for years. This is one of the sturdiest bird feeders I've ever purchased. It is easy to assemble. The four sections allow space for different varieties of food and enough space for several birds to perch and eat. It is a bit heavy, therefore needs a sturdy hook for hanging.. Debra.
