Artist Catherine Freshley, originally from Portland, Oregon, returned home in 2020 after residing in various locations around the country for 15 years. Throughout her life, Freshley has nurtured her artistic talents and passion for painting, starting from a young age. Guseul Park was born and raised in Korea and studied ceramics in college; however, she was always drawn to painting and drawing and is a self-taught artist. “Art means meditation to me. By creating art, I get to go explore the deepest side of myself and examine my state of mind. Creating art always brought me a state of pure joy. It is the place in which I can be myself.” Her favorite medium to use is a pencil which she describes as “back to basics art.” She finds inspiration in daily strolls and travel. She also enjoys reading and sewing embroidery when she is not creating new artwork.
