Very hard to put together but definitely worth it! Holds a fully dressed 12 in mattress with 4 pillows and is very sturdy. Love the touch button for the LED lights, puts a higher quality touch to it. TL;DR - amazing bed, hold out for a holiday deal! I had been in the market for a Murphy Bed for literal years, mostly looking for something of decent quality that wouldn't break the bank. First I bought the Atiya Murphy Storage bed, which came defective, as did the replacement part. After returning it and waiting a few months, the Osterman Murphy bed came across my screen with not too many reviews, but mostly positive. The biggest hesitation I had when buying this bed was that it required anchoring to the wall, and although I'm very adept with building things, I wasn't very familiar with the anchoring process and so I asked my neighbor (who does kitchens for a living) if he'd be able to help me figure it out. After his buy in, I bought the bed during a holiday sale to maximize the deal potential. My neighbor and his crew took about 2 weeks doing 1-2 hours of work each time to build the bed. They're not very used to building things off of manuals, and there were a few parts/steps that left them puzzled. The bed comes with materials that won't be used in the construction, and that is outlined in the manual, but you may miss it if you're not detail-oriented. After the two weeks, my Murphy bed was built and anchored, and it's been enjoyed by many a family member! My grandma slept upwards of 11 hours her first night on it, which made me happy to have chosen the right bed and mattress combo (for the mattress I went with a Kescas memory foam 10 inch to ensure proper fit when the bed was closed). My brother, who is also very picky when it comes to sleep, has also attested to the comfort of the bed. The room serves as my office and the bed (while shut) is my background which everyone thought looked very professional. We're about to host more family this weekend and I'm looking forward to hearing their praises of the bed! One thing to note about delivery: I paid for the bed to be delivered to the room where it would be built, but the delivery person said they couldn't bring it to the room as it was a series of 9 boxes on a pallet. OK...this took me 3 days to assemble by myself...the instructions were mostly pictures, but if you stick with it and don't overthink it...it all turns out perfectly! Having said that...it would go much quicker with a friend to help. This is a very heavy and sturdy unit...I bought 2 of the shelf units with it. I couldn't be happier with the results...it is gorgeous! It ships from Quebec and took more than a month to arrive...so plan on that...it was totally worth the wait and the assembly time.... Juli.
