I needed a tall thin lamp to go in a corner behind a dresser. This lamp is perfect. I also like that it is a 3-way socket so the light can be varied. I don’t know I would put this in a spot it could get knocked into. The base is weighted but if you had active small kids or crazy pets it would definitely get knocked over. It was easy enough to assemble, which was a bit of a surprise. I didn't read the fine print to see that part. I knew the lampshade would be plastic but the piece below it being plastic was not expected. I think it will work for the reason I bought it.
