I bought this primarily as a reading nook lounger. It weighs 50 lbs and I wasnt home when it was left leaning on its end on my porch. Im a 60 yo woman and managed this solo. It took some work to shimmy this into the house but the room it went into is near the front door. If you have steps you will absolutely need 2 people. The box is big and awkward and difficult to get a good grip.
Once in the room, I leaned it against the wall with the bottom facing me. So when you open the box the underneath is showing. Locate the little box with the legs, cut away the protective plastic, screw in the legs and then voila lower it down. The legs have felt stick ons and easy to slide from there if you have hard floors.
It does have some unsightly metal brackets attached on both sides so I covered it with a cute throw. Plus I bought the cream color and it could get dirty fast.
