Not knowing whether his visitors would be kings or queens, Lord Cumberland had both likenesses carved into the spindles and regal lion heads carved roaring form the arm rests. The matching wooden footstool has the same quality, hand-tacked leather cushion and carved detail.
This is a beautiful chair, but it's big! 32" wide is pretty wide. The leather is soft, and the chair is comfortable, but my feet don't quite touch the ground if I sit all the way back (I'm 5'10" tall). The leather is a neutral brown with black splatters. In the photo it has a red tint to it, but mine doesn't, which is fine. The carvings and details are excellent. I tried to match this chair with the Beardsley Faux Leather Lion Chair. The wood color matches fairly well, but the size difference is too much--the Beardsley Lion Chair looks tiny next to this one. Now I am looking for something that matches the Lord Cumberland's Throne Chair, but that is a bit smaller, though larger than the Beardsley Lion Chair.. Jayrl. Phoenix, Az Area. Mon Apr 24 2023
