It is a firmer, rather than mushy soft seat, which was what we were looking for; comfortable seating and easy to get in and out of. The reclining mechanism is smooth and easy to use. When reclined, it is very relaxing, offering just the right angle/positioning and comfort. It arrived in a large box and was easily ‘assembled’ by just slipping the backs on two metal posts.
