Very smooth. It did arrive with dents but I don't feel like returning it. Expensive though for a dented item like this. But they are smaller now that I pooped them out. I just hide that side. But it is really nice, and it looks like real brushed brass with high copper content. I know it's metal, but for 450 bucks. It should be pure copper first order from this place or this website and it wasn't a great experience.So I'll go with others that i've had a better experience with.
