The slim minimalistic design combines the soft natural feeling of wood and the industrial feeling of metal. The clock is silent and runs on 1 AA battery (not included). Overall, it’s a very nice retro style clockradioalarm. The speaker sounds decent enough for what it is and connectivity to Bluetooth is easy and seamless. Once set, time stays accurate, and while it doesn’t specifically state, it seems to have some sort of battery back-up as time stayed accurate during a power outage. Only knock is that the radio tuning is not selectable to a specific frequency- it runs a scan at 1st use and then you scroll through a memory of “found” stations to tune in. If you place it in a spot with bad reception, you have to move it, plug it back in, and scan all over again.
