The shade is a rectangular shape done in an openwork style with glass panels that mirror a traditional lantern look. We love that it takes four candelabra bulbs, which are sold separately. This outdoor light should only be used in covered outdoor areas, not areas with direct water exposure.

Nice fixture. Sturdy quality materials. Was a bit tricky to install replacing a simple old 1970's fixture as all of the old attachments could not be reused. It's important to note the description included "Farmhouse". This fixture would look great on an upscale expensive home and not necessarily a rustic farmhouse.
