The bed is made of particle board but the screw holes are pre-made with a plastic insert so there’s no stripping of the wood when inserting the screws. The drawers are on the smaller size so my son uses them for smaller items of clothes like socks, underwear and t-shirts. The thin flimsy layer of particle board that fits under the mattress should probably be replaced with something that’s a bit thicker. I do love the color and wanted something that wasn’t big and bulky for a smaller size room so it fit the bill. The headboard is a separate item and purchased separately.. Sue. Smithtown, NY.
