Part path light, part lantern, but all style, let the versatile lights bring the timeless appeal of this lighting to your outdoor living spaces. The unit comes with a threaded two-piece stake that when fully assembled, makes a gorgeous path light. When the lamp is detached from the stake it transforms into a stunning hanging lantern. The bulb protected by lantern cage contains a light harness with two LED filaments that gives the appearance of a Tungsten filament Edison bulb when lit. Done in a copper finish, the light sure draws the eye's attention to it during the day and leaves a lasting impression at night.
Like a number of other reviewers, I was sad that this is actually a solar lantern. (Thanks to the other reviewers, though, I was aware of this prior to ordering.)
For others who wanted a truly battery-powered, non-solar lantern: I don't know how this will work out long-term, but I was able to easily lift the solar compartment off the top of the lantern (it isn't glued or screwed in at all), remove two small screws, and swap the AAA solar battery for a AAA rechargeable battery. At least so far, the solar panel is still controlling when the light comes on/off. (In the sun the lantern still turns off.) If you want to hang this lantern in a shady place but will be able to easily access it to change the batteries, this could work!. Bekka. US. Fri Nov 15 2024
