This is the best poacher I have ever used. The shape of the insert, that the egg goes in, is better than most! It spreads the egg out, horizontally, instead of the usual deeper, vertically, shaped inserts. That type never gets the whites aroun the yolk cooked well enough for me. This shape cooks the egg more evenly. The weight of this heavier metal is nice. I drop a lot of things and the cheaper aluminum poachers dent too easily.
