I have to admit that when I ordered this coffee table, I didn't read the description thoroughly and wasn't aware that the top was painted wood. When it came, I was worried about the durability of the paint, but it has really held up. The style was just what I wanted for my mid-century décor, and I love the contrast of the black and white wood. The coffee table is about 4 feel long which compliments my larger sectional couch.
