I was pleasantly surprised at how sturdy and heavy this table is. The color was as expected but in certain lights has a purplish hue to it. The top is not wood at all, but some sort of laminate. It's nice not needing to worry about protecting the surface, but yet it makes the piece look cheap. I will say the pieces were cut well and there is no wobble. Having a power drill for assembly made it a breeze. If you use the little wrench provided, it will wear you out a bit. We had some trouble working around the drawer to get all the fasteners into the corners and ended up having to remove some factory screws to take the drawer out completely. Not a big deal, but somewhat of a hassle. It works for what I needed it for, but I feel it's overpriced for the quality. Ideally, I wanted a sofa table without shelving. I wish they offered that. I don't need the shelves and I'm not using it for a television. Maybe they'll consider making that an option down the road.
