The Floral Curbside Mailbox with Post Included has deeply embossed leaf designs on all sides to give it a charming appearance suitable for either a country or suburban home.
This mailbox and pole are absolutely gorgeous, and unbelievably heavy and sturdy. In person, the copper color is closer to bronze/brown than a bright copper color.
I took one star off because the door jams shut repeatedly unless the closure is altered, and it has to be a known design flaw, not just an anomaly with this one box, because there's all kinds of information out on the internet about how to get around this. We finally had to figure it out for ourselves, and it works much better now, but we shouldn't have had to spend more than an hour reengineering the door closure on a mailbox that costs several hundred dollars. If this item weren't so beautiful, we would have returned it because of that, even at a much lower price point. Having the door of a mailbox repeatedly jam due to poor design would be unacceptable even with a $50 mailbox, and this one costs more than ten times that.
I think the leaf-like design of the handle needs slight modification as well, because the middle leaf is just a little too pointy for comfort when you have to pull on the door hard. I'm also not a big fan of the hinges on the door; they're rather crude, like dowel rods stuck loosely in overly large holes, and so the door flops around and makes loud clunking noises whenever you open or shut it.
I do believe this mailbox is worth the higher price just for its durability (presumed, since we haven't used it yet) and its otherworldly aesthetics, but in our opinion, the manufacturer really needs to rethink several aspects of the door, especially with regard to it constantly jamming without consumer modification..
