I wanted a wide seated chair with a firm cushion as I spend a lot of time in it, I did want some sort of back support as I like to sit up straight. I understand what people are saying when they say there is 'no support'. I have to sit all the way back (I'm 5'4") to receive the back support. I bought a footrest and it seems to be helping with how close I have to sit to the desk to work (also changed out the wheels). This is a spacious chair! If you need the room, this is a great choice. Nice chair and very comfortable. We got the navy blue. The color is perfect and the metal is very nice and not too shiny gold.
