Solid quality, comes as pictured. The top is a bit of a grayish stain, a little bit of light brown undertone, so not straight gray, but nice. Was worried the matte finish would be too rough or rustic looking, but it is not more of a satin finish than a true flat matte. Also there are concealed holes underneath and inside the back of the desk for running cables. Makes cable management a bit rough because the holes are not easy to access, but once the cables are run, they are completely concealed. Would highly recommend. This is a quality piece of furniture..
