There was an internal part that was broken. Ensure if purchasing this item, remove all adapters etc to inspect every available part. The water inlet piece was broken but not discovered until it was installed and found to leak as there was an adapter on it that we had no reason to remove until it leaked. Wayfairs warranty period was already expired but the manufacturer stayed in contact with us and sent out a replacement heater resolving our issue. Looking forward to many months of swimming!
