This original sculpture is artisan Emmanuel Opoku Asante's interpretation of a Fante fertility doll. Such dolls would be given to couples that are having difficulty in conceiving a child. The Ghanaian artisan carves the female figure by hand from sese wood and adorns it with recycled glass beads and a loincloth.

This long and lean "Alhairi" wall mask is an original design by Ghanaian master carver Sefah Annwhar. Meaning "Goodness" in the Hausa language, the mask is expertly carved by hand of seasoned sese wood. Anwar decorates his creation with embossed brass diamonds on the cheeks. Painted details and clay applications complete this impressive mask.

This highly stylized mask represents a personage who wears a turban. Richly adorned with aluminum repoussé, its colors are red and black.

Love this piece. Very solid and beautifully crafted, looks great on my wall. Even came equipped with a strap on the back for easy hanging. One thing to note, the pictures on the internet show pigments of very bright vibrant red, and black, in reality this is not the case. The colour pattern is more of a dull burnt orange and what appears black, is more of a chocolate brown. The mask still looks fabulous, however if you are purchasing the piece specifically because of the vibrant colouring in the photos, you may be disappointed. Very happy with purchase.. Greg.
