The Copper colored Mayfield global rug looks better in photos than it does in person. In person it looks too digitized and harsh, and not as well blended as it looks in the photos. The colors are just what I wanted, but the design up close is too busy for my personal tastes. I'd probably have sent it back, but my husband does like it and I don't care to pay for S&H to send back and try for something more soothing. Too, the original price tag of $1,349.00 for this rug is far too expensive - the quality is simply not there to justify the full price, but on the 64% off sale it's about what one would expect to pay. It does have a non-slip backing and is staying in place quite well. There is no offensive off-gassing smell to this run and that was a nice surprise. It came folded up pretty tightly, not rolled, and the folds have smoothed out fairly well after sitting for a couple of days. I just wish it had looked as good in real like as it does in the photos. Due to the lower overall quality of this rug than I expected, I'm waiting for the full 30 days return window policy, to verify that the fibers won't easily snag and look ratty. But, otherwise, with my husband liking the design, I'll be living with it for a while.
Now, the Aloe color is more soothing, peaceful, and softly blended. It is not as harsh of a digital design (as the copper color blend) and looks beautiful in our bedroom. I would give the Aloe color 4 stars because the blending of the colors is softer and more gentle on the eyes, and because the sale price is a good value for the quality of the area rug.. Dhebi.
